Just Another Pandora's Box 2010 English Subtitle

The film's Chinese title is pun on the Chinese title of the first part of A Chinese Odyssey, 月光寶盒 (simplified Chinese: 月光宝盒). The last three characters of each title are the same, only the first differs; the pronunciations of 月 and 越 are the same in both Cantonese (jyut6) and Mandarin (yuè). The older title translates literally to 'Moonlight Magic Box'; in the title of this film, the character for 'moon' is replaced by 越, in this context meaning 'more' or 'surpassing'.

In addition to A Chinese Odyssey, the film in particular spoofs Red Cliff and also makes references to other films such as The Eagle Shooting Heroes, Kung Fu Hustle, House of Flying Daggers, CJ7, Kung Fu Panda and Titanic

A bandit Ronald Cheng effortlessly pulls out the magic sword belonging to Fairy Athena Chu, and Fairy Sun Li who lives by love, is drawn as moth to flame by this deja vu-like infatuation. As Sun Li chases after the Ronald Cheng, who just wants to get away from this 'rotten peach blossom', the Pandora's Box opens a doorway into another time zone...

Thus begins their incredible journey that is filled with fantasies, traipsing through A Chinese Odyssey, Eagle Shooting Heroes, Red Cliff, Kungfu Hustle, Painted Skin, Kungfu Panda, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and even The Matrix, with appearances by a number of the original cast members plus, reportedly, recreation of the original movie sets.
